Magnetic healing is an alternative medicine practice which involves the use of static magnetic fields for pain relief and recovery. D.D. Palmer was a proponent of magnetic healing and founded his own magnet healing practice in downtown Davenport in 1885.
The Ryan Building, where D.D. practiced magnetic healing and developed his theory of chiropractic.
Paul Caster is credited with being D.D. Palmer's mentor in the magnetic healing business. He had a large magnetic healing practice in Ottumwa, Iowa.
