Key Resources

The purpose of this guide is to provide key library resources and services for Palmer students.  Use the drop-down menu under Students to access information on those services.  This page includes details on checking out items from the Palmer Library.

Borrowing Privileges for Palmer Students

Palmer students have access to all Palmer Library's resources on and off campus. With their Palmer ID, students may check out many of the following items:

Books

Books have a four-week circulation period with two one-week renewals.

Palmer students are allowed thirty (30) items at any one time.

Scholarly Journals

Undergraduate and D.C. students must use scholarly journals in-house.

Graduate students may check out scholarly journals for one day with one renewal allowed. A limit of twenty (20) items may be checked out at any one time.

Leisure Journals

Leisure journals do not circulate.  These are for in-house use only.

Audio Visual (AV)

Circulating AV may be checked out for two (2) days, with one 2-day renewal.

Undergraduate and D.C. students may check out a maximum of two (2) AV items at one time.

Graduate students may check out a maximum of ten (10) AV items at one time.

Non-circulating items must be used in-house.

Reserves

Reserve items may be checked out for a two hour period. A $1 per hour fine will be imposed on all late material.

One reserve item may be checked out at one time, with the exception of materials that are logically related (facial bones and skull, for example), in which case up to three (3) items may be checked out at one time.

Circulating Models

Checkout period for circulating models is one (1) day, due by 10:00 a.m. the following day, except on the weekend (the due date will be the following class day--usually Monday--by 10:00 a.m.).  There are no renewals and no grace period on circulating models.  A total of three (3) non-identical items may be checked out at one time.
