Doctors of osteopathic medicine have been trained in all the aspects of allopathic medicine, such as diagnosing and treating all types of medical conditions, performing surgery or prescribing drugs. In addition, they receive 300 - 500 additional hours of training in manual manipulative therapies and the musculoskeletal system in order to holistically treat their patients.
