Models & Study Aids on Course Reserve
Course reserves are materials that have been selected by your professors and made available to you through the libraries. Models and study aids on reserve may include:
- Extra credit assignments
- Practice exams
- Supplemental readings (articles, book chapters, etc.)
These items, because of their high demand, have shorter check-out periods and higher late fees.

FAQ - Reserves
What kinds of materials are on reserve?
The reserve collection includes books, videos, CDs, and many other materials your instructors have requested we set aside for a class. There's a large selection of items -- just ask at the desk!
Can I renew reserves?
Yes, you may renew most reserve materials one time by contacting the library service desk where you checked them out. However, if another student is waiting to use the material, it may not be renewed.
Can I return a reserve item to any library desk or book return, like regular library books?
No, reserve items must be returned to the library service desk where they were borrowed. Items returned to other floors or locations can take time to get back to their proper location, and during that time, they are unavailable for others to borrow.
What happens if I return or renew an item late?
You will be charged a fine of $0.25 per hour (including any portion of an hour) if a reserve item is returned late.
