Literature Searches

Literature search services from Palmer Health Sciences Library faculty is a consulting service for subject-specific, computerized database searches using both the free and subscription databases available through the Palmer libraries.

The Literature Search fee for alumni is $25.00 per topic.  You will receive a bill from the Business Office after the search is complete.  Turn-around time for literature searches is typically between one to three days.

Literature searches can be performed on a variety of chiropractic and health-related topics.  A literature search will consist of a bibliography of relevant journal article citations based on the requested search criteria.  The bibliography will contain the citation information and abstract (if available), but not the full-text of the article.  If the article is open access, there will be a link to the full text.

Results are generally e-mailed to you as an attachment.

If you desire full-text of the article and we subscribe to the journal, you may contact the library for Document Delivery and pay the associated Document Delivery fee of $12.00 per article plus an associated journal royalty fee.  Another option, especially if we do not subscribe to the journal, would be to go to your local library with the ctiation information and have them order the article for you.

For more information, please contact the Reference Desk.
